Originally delivered as a 1966 Series IIA, this Land Rover spent decades earning its character before receiving a comprehensive modernization focused on reliability, drivability, and long-distance capability. Rather than restoring the truck to its original specifications, the build was engineered to preserve the iconic Series Land Rover experience while solving many of the limitations that keep vintage four-wheel drives parked in garages.
Power comes from a modern Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel crate engine producing 161 horsepower and an impressive 310 lb-ft of torque. The result is a dramatically different driving experience than a stock Series IIA, with effortless low-end pulling power, improved highway capability, and modern diesel dependability.
The chassis was renewed during the build process, creating a solid foundation for decades of future use. Supporting upgrades include modernized steering, upgraded braking systems, and drivetrain improvements designed to handle the increased performance.
Unlike many classic Land Rovers that spend their lives as show pieces, this example was built to be driven. Whether used for weekend exploration, ranch duty, Cars & Coffee events, or overland adventures, it offers the unmistakable presence of a vintage Series Land Rover with the usability of a much newer vehicle.
