This 1990 TVR S3 convertible is right-hand drive and was imported from the United Kingdom in 2019. It was acquired by its previous owner in August 2020 and purchased by us on March 7th, 2022. The fiberglass body is painted in a metallic blue over matching blue leather. The paint condition is not perfect of course, but representative of the age of the car.
The 2.9-liter Ford Cologne V6 has electronic fuel injection and is paired with a five-speed manual transmission The top has two removeable section that give the car a targa look, or you can fold the rear section down as it has a plastic rear window.
The TVR comes with 15″ alloy wheels with 205/60 Mazzini tires, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, fog lamps, Gaz adjustable front coilovers, and an aluminum radiator. The prior owner states that the brakes were overhauled and the ignition components and valve cover gaskets were replaced in 2020, while the water pump and coolant hoses were changed in 2021. A brake overhaul in 2020 reportedly included replacing the master cylinder, servo, hoses, and front calipers as well as the pads all around.
The interior has wood-look dash panels, a 2000's Kenwood CD stereo, Sony speakers, and power windows, wood-rimmed steering wheel, TVR-branded gauges including a 160-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. The six-digit odometer shows just under 49,900 miles. The fuel and oil pressure gauges were reported as inoperable, as are the analog clock and four switches between the air vents on the center console.
Service performed over the past few years reportedly included replacement of the water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, ignition coil, distributor rotor, fuel filter, and valve cover gaskets. An aluminum radiator and silicone coolant hoses were also fitted.
The fuel tank is said to have been replaced in 2017 and the previous owner notes an exhaust leak and points out a rust hole in the rear section of the frame.
